Hyderabad: The Telangana Boggu Gani Karmika Sangham (TBGKS), with the support of the BRS, has decided to intensify its agitation against the Congress government, demanding implementation of promises made to Singareni workers during the elections.

TBGKS resolved to take up sustained protests and campaigns on the ground until the government fulfils its commitments. The BRS will coordinate closely with party MLAs, in-charges and former Ministers in the region.

At a key meeting held at Telangana Bhavan, BRS working president KT Rama Rao extended the party’s full support to the TBGKS’ efforts. Former Minister and senior BRS leader Koppula Eshwar has been appointed as the party in-charge for the Sangham. Under his leadership, a massive meeting is set to be organised soon in the Singareni coal belt.

Speaking on the occasion, Rama Rao urged TBGKS leaders to speak with Singareni workers about the decade-long efforts of the previous BRS government in safeguarding Singareni and other public sector undertakings in the State.

He accused the Congress of betraying the workers, just as it failed other sections of society. He wanted them to resist the efforts of the Congress and the BJP governments to privatise Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL).

He assured legal assistance to workers facing any injustice, with the party’s legal wing tasked with supporting affected employees. He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to protect public sector enterprises and stand by the coal mine workers in their fight.
