Police personnel stop BRSV activists from entering the Telangana Assembly premises in Hyderabad on Monday.
Hyderabad: Police took into custody several BRS Vidyarthi activists when they attempted to lay siege to the Telangana Legislative Assembly in protest against the order of the Osmania University administration banning any form of protest in the campus.
The BRSV activists, led by State president G Srinivas Yadav along with T Balu and others, raising slogans against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and the State government, tried to storm the Assembly building.
Police prevented them from entering the premises and took them into custody. All of them were bundled into police vans and shifted to nearby police stations.
Srinivas Yadav demanded that the circular issued by the Osmania University administration be withdrawn immediately. He said the university has always been at the forefront of raising voice against anti-people policies of governments.
