Siddipet: BRS leaders announced that they would strongly oppose any move by the Congress government to dissolve Siddipet district. In the wake of Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar’s announcement on merging the Husnabad constituency with Karimnagar district, the BRS leaders said the move amounted to cheating the people of the district even though he is the only Minister from here.

Speaking to reporters in Siddipet on Sunday, senior BRS leader Radhakrishna Sharma said it is Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s conspiracy against former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and former Minister T Harish Rao. He said the people of Siddipet know how to keep the district integrated as movements were not new to them.

Stating that Siddipet district is a long-cherished dream of the people here, the BRS leader said there has been a demand for a separate Siddipet district since the early 1980s when NT Rama Rao was Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh.

Demanding a clear announcement from Congress party leaders on their stand on Siddipet district, Sharma said they would not allow Congress leaders to roam in the district unless they came up with a clarification. The BRS leader accused Revanth Reddy of conspiring to undo what Chandrashekhar Rao achieved during his 10 years in power.
