Hyderabad: BRS women leaders offered special prayers at the historic Bhagyalakshmi Temple near Charminar here on Monday, seeking the Goddess to grant wisdom and sense to Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar and his son Sai Bageerath in connection with the ongoing POCSO case.
Led by senior leaders Gongidi Sunitha and Tula Uma, the women leaders performed rituals at the temple. They demanded Bandi Sanjay’s immediate resignation, failing which the BJP should dismiss him from the Union Cabinet to ensure a fair investigation.
Speaking to the media afterwards, Sunitha said they had chosen the temple, considering that Bandi Sanjay had publicly expressed his reverence for the Goddess. They hoped it would help him gain the wisdom to step down. They said he no longer had the moral authority to remain in the Cabinet, while a case involving his son was under active investigation.
“With the Goddess as witness, the truth must come out. There can be no political interference in a case involving a minor girl,” they said, urging investigating agencies to conduct a free and impartial probe and place all facts in the public domain.
