BRS workers attacked in Health Minister’s constituency

Dalit BRS leaders in Mallareddypet alleged that men working for a contractor attacked them after they sought to stop heavy vehicles carrying construction material from passing through the village. They also alleged police inaction and political interference in the matter

Sangareddy: Dalit BRS leaders of Mallareddypet in Munipally mandal alleged that men working for a contractor, who were carrying gravel and other materials to a nearby road construction site, attacked them when they tried to stop heavy vehicles from passing through the village.

The BRS leaders, led by party village president Prem, asked the drivers of the heavy vehicles to avoid passing through the village as the roads were getting damaged. Since an alternative route was available outside the village, they suggested that the vehicles use it.

However, Prem alleged that the contractor’s men attacked them while local SI Aravind remained a mute spectator.

He further said the attackers had arrived from neighbouring Vatpally and that local BRS leaders identified them as followers of Health Minister Damodara Rajanarasimha.

Instead of registering a case against the attackers, the BRS leaders alleged that the police summoned them to the police station at the behest of some Congress leaders.

Prem said this was a clear indication of how power was being misused by ruling party leaders.
