Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao and BRS Legislature Party deputy leader T Harish Rao on Tuesday extended Dasara greetings to the people of Telangana, recalling the festival’s cultural significance and its message of the triumph of good over evil.
In a post on X, Rama Rao termed Dasara as Telangana’s biggest festival, marked by visits to native villages, reunions with relatives and well-wishers, Alai-Balai gatherings, worship of the Jammi (Shami) tree and sighting of the auspicious Palapitta (Indian roller).
Praying for the well-being of the people, he hoped that unrighteousness would end in the State and that Telangana would prosper, with its people blessed with success, good health and prosperity.
Harish Rao said Dasara symbolised the victory of righteousness over unrighteousness. He called the traditions of worshipping the Jammi tree and sighting the Palapitta as integral to Telangana’s cultural heritage. He wished that people would celebrate the festival with joy and enthusiasm, seeking the blessings of Goddess Durga.
