Nalgonda: A majority of students at the Government Primary School in Boyavada, Nalgonda district, have not received textbooks and uniforms, with over 70 per cent still waiting for supplies from the Education Department. The school’s amenities, particularly the bathroom facilities, are also in poor and unhygienic condition, according to BRSV Telangana State General Secretary Katta Srinivas.
On Wednesday, as part of its ‘Badi Baata’ initiative, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi Vidyarthi (BRSV) organised a visit to the school to engage with students and understand their challenges. Accompanied by student leaders, Katta Srinivas interacted with the children and took stock of their grievances.
Highlighting their concerns, he urged the government to promptly supply textbooks and uniforms, and ensure hygienic mid-day meals. Speaking on the occasion, he said the ‘Badi Baata’ programme would continue for a week, during which BRSV would assess student-related issues across various schools and bring them to the notice of the government.
“We will fight for the rights of students and ensure their problems are addressed,” he asserted.
The programme saw participation from BRSV State leaders, including State Secretary Bommaraboyina Nagarjuna, Challa Kotesh Yadav, Mainam Yugandar, Jetti Shivaprasad, Kuntigarla Lingayya, and Lingaswamy Goud, among others.
