BTS’s ‘Butter’ has returned to its No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot100 for the eighth week. The track from the septet comprising RM, Jungkook, Suga, Jimin, V, Jin and J-Hope was released as a digital single in March this year to positive reviews from critics and fans alike.

The single’s return to the No. 1 spot means it is now tying with ‘Drivers License’ by Olivia Rodrigo for the longest spot held of 2021. This will also be the first time an Asian group has clinched the record. Interestingly, ‘Butter’ was nudged out of its top spot by the same group’s ‘Permission to Dance’.

BTS celebrated the milestone on Weverse writing, “Butter came back to reclaim Billboard HOT 100 No. 1!! Congrats to BTS on topping the chart with ‘Butter’ for 8 times!! The perfect love and support of BTS and ARMY made it possible for Butter to reclaim the throne again.(sic)”
