Hyderabad: On the 26th of January, Ahmedabad witnessed an extraordinary fusion of two worlds that rarely meet—cricket and music. At the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium, where cricketing legends have created history, Coldplay’s electrifying concert took centre stage, bringing together fans from all walks of life.

And among the star-studded crowd was none other than India’s cricketing sensation, Jasprit Bumrah.

Although Bumrah is currently not playing due to injury, his presence at the Coldplay concert made headlines.

The Indian pacer, dressed in a black shirt, was seen thoroughly enjoying the atmosphere, immersed in the magical performance by one of the world’s biggest bands. His love for music was evident, but it wasn’t just about the concert. It was about the recognition he received that evening, a tribute from the music world to one of cricket’s finest.

The crowd went wild when Coldplay’s lead singer, Chris Martin, dedicated a special performance to Bumrah. As the band played, Martin sang: “Well, Jasprit Bumrah, my beautiful brother. The best bowler in the whole of cricket. We did not enjoy watching you destroy England, wicket after wicket”.

The heartfelt tribute was a testament to the respect and admiration Chris Martin and the band have for the pacer, who has become a cricketing legend. But that wasn’t all — Coldplay took the tribute a step further by displaying Bumrah’s signed Test jersey on stage as a mark of respect to the pacer, performing in his home city of Ahmedabad.

Chris Martin had previously honoured Bumrah in Navi Mumbai, calling him “No. 1 in the world,” cementing his status as a true global icon.

Bumrah, clearly touched by the gesture, later shared a post on X: “This made me smile! Incredible vibe at the @coldplay concert in Mumbai (from what I’ve seen here) and even more special to be mentioned.” He also shared a video of the moment.

On social media platform X, fans couldn’t stop buzzing. From trending hashtags to posts flooding the platform, the excitement surrounding both the Coldplay concert and Bumrah’s appearance was palpable.

One fan wrote: “After all the shenanigans across the India shows @coldplay X @Jaspritbumrah93 crossover finally happens!”

While another posted: “When Coldplay meets the cold-blooded king of yorkers! Jasprit Bumrah, the GOAT honoured at the grandest stage. Legends celebrating a legend! In what an achievement to the ONE and ONLY BUMRAH.”
