Burglar arrested, property worth Rs 18 lakh seized in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A person allegedly involved in 12 burglaries in the city was caught by the City Police on Wednesday. The police recovered property worth Rs 18 lakh from him.
Acting on a tip off, the Commissioner’s Task Force (South) caught Mohammed Saleem alias Sunil Shetty (46) of Nawab Saheb Kunta under the Falaknuma police station limits. City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar said Saleem was involved in 12 offences at Chandrayangutta, Balapur, Pahadishareef, Chatrinaka and Falaknuma police station limits. He was arrested three years ago and was detained under the PD Act before being released from jail in March this year.
“In the last 30 years, Saleem has been involved in 180 burglaries. He is on the City Dossier Criminal (CDC) sheet at the Falaknuma police station,” Anjani Kumar said, adding that Saleem was handed over to the Chandrayangutta police for further action.
