Hyderabad: Social media is abuzz with speculation over a possible expansion of the Telangana Cabinet on Saturday, with several aspirants keeping their fingers crossed.

With news spreading rapidly about a potential oath-taking ceremony at the Raj Bhavan, political circles are agog with anticipation over Cabinet berths. Reports suggest that three Ministers are likely to take oath on Sunday.

“We, too, received a few phone calls from different sections asking about an oath-taking programme, but there is no clarity so far,” a senior leader from Gandhi Bhavan said.

At present, there are six vacancies in the Cabinet, and many are aspiring for a berth. Over the past few days, expectations have been high at Gandhi Bhavan that the party high command could announce names for the Cabinet expansion at any time.

TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud has reiterated this on a few occasions. Accordingly, several aspirants have flown to New Delhi to lobby with AICC leaders.

Excitement surrounding the Cabinet expansion grew further after AICC Telangana in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan met Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy at his residence on Friday.

Raj Bhavan sources said Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, who is currently in New Delhi, is expected to arrive in the city late Saturday night.
