BVRIT hosts global wireless and microwave symposium in Medak

The Wireless, Antennas and Microwave Symposium (WAMS 2026) began at BVRIT in Medak with delegates from 18 countries participating. The event features discussions on 6G technologies, antenna systems and wireless communications, along with presentations of 753 selected research papers.

Medak: Principal of BV Raju Institute of Technology Dr Sanjay Dubey said that the symposium on “Wireless, Antennas and Microwave Symposium” (WAMS 2026) would provide an excellent platform for students, researchers and faculty members to gain insights into cutting-edge research and technological advancements in antenna systems, wireless communications and microwave engineering.

Hosted by BVRIT, the symposium is being organised by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He said experts would also discuss 6G technologies, future antenna systems and next-generation wireless communications.


In his welcome address on the first day of the four-day event on Wednesday, Dr BR Sanjeeva Reddy, Head of the Department of ECE and General Chair of WAMS 2026, informed that delegates from 18 countries, including the USA, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, Taiwan, China, Malaysia, Italy, Singapore, Poland, Kazakhstan, Lebanon and France, were participating in the symposium. Representatives from renowned institutions such as leading universities in the United States, academic institutions in the Boston region, RMIT University (Australia) and Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) also attended.

Dr Reddy further revealed that the symposium received 1,059 technical research paper submissions. Following a rigorous peer-review process, he said that as many as 753 papers were selected for oral and poster presentations. Researchers from 29 states across India, including scholars from IITs, IISc Bengaluru, NITs, IIITs, BITS, other reputed universities, industries and national research organisations, will present their latest research findings during the symposium.

Phil Venezia, Chief Engineer, Lintriss, USA, Dr Dhaval Pujara, President, WAMS Society and Vice-Chancellor of Adani University, Prof Ananta Bharathi, Vice-President, WAMS Society, Dr Sudhakar K Rao, Advisor, WAMS 2026, Dr CJ Reddy, President, Antennas and Propagation Society, and others were present.
