Canal bund breached in Karimnagar’s Mannepalli, water enters SC colony
Local people faced troubles as water entered the nearby SC colony.
Karimnagar: The bund of SRSP D-4 canal was breached at Mannepalli of Thimmapur mandal early on Sunday morning. Water is being supplied to various villages in Manakondur mandal from Thotapalli reservoir.
Local people faced troubles as water entered the nearby SC colony. Arranging of small sluices by farmers to supply water to their fields and poor quality of the canal at SC colony were suspected to be reasons for the breach of bund.
Farmer sarpanch Medi Anjaiah and deputy-sarpanch Venkatesh informed officials. Knowing about incident, the Union Minister of State for Home, Bandi Sanjay Kumar instructed officials to take up repair works.
Manakondur MLA Kavvampalli Satyanarayana visited the spot.
