Karimnagar: TRS MP Captain V Lakshmikantha Rao on Wednesday found fault with the argument of former Minister Eatala Rajender who justified his purchase of the assigned lands.
“For a man who worked as a Minister for several years, it is ridiculous to make such remarks when he clearly knows that the government and a company are different where the former is entitled to acquire lands by duly compensating the oustees as per law,” he said.
Rajender asked what was wrong in him purchasing the assigned lands for his company when the government itself was acquiring the assigned lands for industries and infrastructure development projects.
Speaking to mediapersons in Huzurabad on Wednesday, Lakshmikantha Rao said Rajender was given an opportunity to contest from Kamalapur Assembly constituency which was a stronghold of TRS. However, he alleged that the latter played a spoilsport for the fellow legislators misusing his Ministerial position.
“Husnabad MLA Satish Rao got the Revenue Divisional Office sanctioned for his constituency headquarters, but Rajender misused his official position as a Minister and pressurised the officials to shift it to Huzurabad. As a result, Satish Rao faced the ire of his constituents,” he said. He pointed out that Rajender was instrumental in moving a No-Confidence motion against Lakshmikantha Rao’s wife and MPP Sarojana.
The Rajya Sabha member also supported the swift action taken by the Chief Minister against Etala Rajender following complaints from the public in order to instill confidence among people over the existing government. He asserted that he was denying the role of Etala Rajender in the Telangana movement, but stated that he was given due importance by the Chief Minister within the party and the government as well. “However, Rajender misused his positions and his close association with the Chief Minister to conspire against his own party leaders,” he said.
Responding to a question, he stated that he was ready to contest from Huzurabad constituency, if the party President and Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao directs him to contest.
