Car swept away, police rescue passengers in Siddipet

Siddipet: Normal life came to a standstill as a huge rain pounded on Siddipet district. While the rain water flooded into the agriculture fields at several places, the Police have diverted the traffic as roads have got damaged and the streams were seen overflowing over the roads at many places.
An unidentified man aged about 50 years, was found dead near Pragnapur in Gajwel town on Rajiv Rahadhari as an unidentified vehicle hit him. Siddipet district has received 110 mm average rainfall as Mulugu witnessed a record 210 mm rain during the past 24 hours at 8.30 am on Wednesday.
As the Baswapur stream was overflowing, the Husnabad Police led by Inspector Ragupathi Reddy and SI, Sridhar, diverted traffic on Husnabad main road by placing stoppers.
The road communication between Doulthabad and Upparpally was disrupted as a huge amount of water was seen overflowing over the road here.
As Cheriyal Tank is overflowing due to heavy rains and water also flowing through the streets of Cheriyal, the Police and civic staff jumped into action to avoid any untoward incident.
As Kudavelly stream was in full swing and flowing over the road at Akaram village disrupting the road communication with Tuljapur, the Police led by Inspector, Harikrishna Goud and SI Swamy took all the measures to divert the traffic by placing road stoppers.
As Yellamma Cheruvu in Husnabad town is overflowing, the Police have blocked the road here to avoid any untoward incident happening as a precautionary measure.
Since Pillvagu is overflowing disrupting the traffic flow between Tangallapally and Shangigaram villages, Koheda SI Raj Kumar has stopped the traffic flow here.
When a road over bridge collapsed between Nanganur and Akshapur, a car plunged into a stream. The Rajagopalpet SI, Mahipal Reddy with the help of locals have rescued the people travelling in the car.
As trees were uprooted and fallen at several places, the revenue and Police department officials got into action to remove them from the road. While the water is overflowing over the road at Meridian School in Siddipet town, the Siddipet Rural Inspector, Saidulu has blocked the traffic by placing barricades.
Commissioner of Police, D Joel Davis has urged people not to venture out of their houses for next two days since the streams were in full flow and the IMD had also forecast rain for next couple of days. He has urged the people to take all the due care if they come out.
He has asked the people to call the Police by dialing 100 if they need any emergency help. Meanwhile, the agriculture officials were trying to assess the crop loss and the revenue and department is putting a collective effort to know about the human loss and house collapses across Siddipet district.
