Hyderabad: Thinking about what course to pursue after competition of intermediate or 10+2? You may explore a career in hospitality and hotel administration. With the tourism and hotel management industry growing each year, this sector has become a good career option for several youngsters.
As there are several departments like operations, food and beverages, front office, sales and marketing, accounts etc., in the hotel and hospitality sector, job options are aplenty. Apart from jobs in hotels and restaurants, the BSc Hospitality and Hotel Administration graduates can find jobs in the airline kitchens, cruise liners, bars, clubs etc.
One can pursue BSc Hospitality and Hotel Administration course at affiliated institutes of the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology. The course is jointly offered by the National Council for Hotel Management and Indira Gandhi National Open University. A total of 12,045 seats are on offer in 74 institutes across the country and in Telangana, four institutes have an intake of 685 seats.
Admissions into the programme are based on the National Council for Hotel Management Joint Entrance Examination (NCHM JEE)-2021 scores. The National Testing Agency which will hold the entrance test on June 12 has released the notification.
The computer-based test will have 200 multiple-choice questions. The aspirants will be tested in numerical ability and analytical aptitude, reasoning and logical deduction, general knowledge and current affairs, English language, and aptitude for the service sector. Each question carries four marks and one mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.
Applicants should have passed 10+2 system of senior secondary examination or its equivalent with English as one of the subjects, from a recognized educational Board. Candidate must have passed English as a subject of study (core/elective/functional) in the qualifying examination. Students who are appearing for the 10+2 or equivalent exam can also appear for the entrance test on a provisional basis.
