Microfinance scheme row: Singer Mangli, Advocate Subba Rao file complaints against each other in Hyderabad
Singer Mangli and advocate Subba Rao have filed complaints against each other in Hyderabad, alleging fraud and harassment. Subba Rao accused Mangli of cheating him of Rs 10 crore in a microfinance scheme, while Mangli claimed the lawyer was spreading false allegations of a Rs 150 crore fraud and threatening to defame her.

Hyderabad: The Punjagutta police registered a case against singer Mangli for allegedly cheating an advocate of Rs 10 crore in a microfinance scheme business. Meanwhile, Mangli too filed a complaint at the Narsingi police station against the lawyer, alleging that she was being harassed by him.
The advocate Subba Rao, alleged that Mangli cheated him of Rs.10 crore in a microfinance scheme-related fraud. He filed a complaint against Mangli, and three others with the police and also claimed that he faced a threat to life from them.
The Punjagutta police registered a case under different Sections of BNS against Mangli and three others and are investigating.
Meanwhile Mangli also filed a complaint at the Narsingi police station against the lawyer, alleging that she was being harassed by him.
The singer has stated in her complaint that the lawyer was spreading false information that she has committed a fraud of Rs. 150 crore and clarified that there was no truth in these allegations.
The complaint submitted by Mangli at Narsingi police station states that on March 21, a person Subba Rao, who is a lawyer, introduced himself to her and since then spoke to her in a rude and threatening manner. She alleged that the person had put pressure on her to meet and when she refused, he threatened to defame her on social media and elsewhere.
The Narsingi police registered a case against the lawyer under various Sections of the BNS Act.
