Cash van driver escapes with Rs 57 lakh in Hyderabad
A CMS cash van driver allegedly fled with Rs 57 lakh meant for Axis Bank ATMs in Gachibowli, Hyderabad. The incident occurred when custodians were refilling an ATM and the guard briefly stepped away.

Hyderabad: In a daring robbery, a driver of a cash management services (CMS) vehicle allegedly fled with Rs 57 lakh meant for replenishing Axis Bank ATMs in Gachibowli on Thursday.
The incident occurred around 5 pm in Gopanpally area under Gachibowli Police Station limits. According to police, the CMS vehicle had arrived to load cash into ATMs when the theft took place.
While two custodians were inside the bank refilling the ATM with cash, the security guard reportedly stepped away to use the restroom. Seizing the opportunity, the driver, identified as Ajit alias Shiva, allegedly drove away with the vehicle.
Police said the suspect later abandoned the cash van near Tellapur and escaped with approximately Rs 57 lakh kept inside the vehicle.
Based on a complaint, a case was booked and an investigation is underway. Special teams have been formed to trace and nab the absconding driver.
