Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Central Crime Station (CCS) team has busted an illegal Chinese manja racket and arrested five persons for possessing and attempting to sell banned mono filament kite string on Thursday.
A total of 155 bobbins of Monofil Gold Chinese manja were seized from them.
The arrested persons are K Pawan Kumar, Rohit Agarwal, B Nikhil, Mohd Moin Mallick and Abdul Kareem, all residents of Hyderabad.
Police said the suspects were allegedly selling the dangerous material at inflated prices. Chinese manja is banned due to the serious threat it poses to human life and birds.
The arrested persons, along with the seized material, were handed over to the local police for further action.
