Karimnagar: Commissioner of Police, VB Kamalasan Reddy said on Thursday that CCTV cameras serve as a shield for security of people and they would help as evidence if any irregularities take place.
CP inaugurated 33 CCTV cameras in Khanpura and Hussenipura areas under Nenusahitham on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that all areas in police commissionerate limits were under the surveillance of cameras.
Since every visual would be recorded in cameras, they would help the police to detect the accused if any crime takes place. If a person spends time outside for an hour, he/she would be recorded in 50 cameras, he informed and added that they were taking steps to capture movements in 200 cameras.
All the cameras were linked to the command control room through Geo-tagging. There was a chance to connect cameras to mobile phones and watch developments in their localities by staying elsewhere
Emphasizing the need to arrange more cameras, he appealed the people to come forward to establish cameras in their localities. Public representatives and people should extend their support to the police efforts to establish cameras.
Talking about corona vaccine, he opined that people would get 95 percent protection by taking vaccine. Public representatives, elders of all religions, and representatives of NGOs should come forward to motivate people to take vaccine.
