Hyderabad: The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has cleared director Venkatesh Nimmalapudi’s upcoming romantic drama Sundarakanda, starring actor Nara Rohith in the lead, with a clean U/A certificate.
Taking to social media, Sandeep Picture Palace, which is producing the film, wrote: “Certified for every heartbeat… #Sundarakanda is U/A and ready to steal your hearts this Aug 27. #SundarakandaOnAug27th.”
Sundarakanda, which marks Nara Rohith’s 20th film, is produced by Santhosh Chinnapolla, Gowtham Reddy, and Rakesh Mahankalli under the banner of Sandeep Picture Palace (SPP).
The film’s teaser gave audiences a glimpse of Rohith’s character—a middle-aged bachelor navigating life with wit and charm. With its light-hearted tone and slice-of-life moments, the film is expected to offer a refreshing experience to audiences.
Releasing on August 27, coinciding with Ganesh Chaturthi, Sundarakanda will enjoy a long weekend advantage as it arrives mid-week.
The release poster showcased two parallel love stories across different phases of Rohith’s life. It featured him alongside Sridevi Vijaykumar, capturing the innocence of first love, and with Vriti Vaghani, hinting at a more mature, second-chance romance.
Music is composed by Leon James, with the first single Bahusa Bahusa, sung by Sid Sriram, already a chartbuster. Pradeep M Varma handled cinematography, Rohan Chillale is the editor, Rajesh Pentakota is the art director, and Sundeep is the executive producer.
Alongside Rohith, the film also stars Vriti Vaghani, Sridevi Vijaykumar, Naresh Vijaya Krishna, Vasuki Anand, Satya, Ajay, VTV Ganesh, Abhinav Gomatam, Viswant, Rupa Lakshmi, Sunaina, and Raghu Babu.
Lyrics are penned by Sri Harsha Emani, while stunts are choreographed by Pruthvi Master and dances by Vishwa Raghu.
