Hyderabad: The Central Government said no funds were lapsed or surrendered by Telangana Government, in respect of funds sanctioned under Livestock Health and Disease Control Scheme since 2014.
These funds were sanctioned to control the fatal disease of ruminants. Union Fisheries Minister Parshottam Rupala shared these details while replying to Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy in the parliament.
The union Minister said 100 Mobile Veterinary Clinics were being operated in Telangana to deliver veterinary services at farmer’s doorstep. The funds released during 2020-21 (Rs.22.24 lakhs) and during 2021-22 (Rs.51.74 crore) were presently under utilisation, he said.
In addition, the Central Government has also provided financial assistance of Rs.16 crore to Telangana Government towards procurement of 100 Mobile Veterinary Units (MVUs) during 2021-22, he added.
Meanwhile, union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar said compensation to the families of the deceased farmers during the farmers’ movement was with the concerned State Governments.
This was the union Minister’s reply to the Malkajgiri MP in Parliament, when he asked whether the Government had collected names or details of farmers, who died during the farmers’ protests across the country last year.
