Central Gurudwara Sahib Gowliguda turns 100 years, Centenary Marathon Tomorrow

Central Gurudwara Sahib Gowliguda will celebrate its centenary year with a marathon in Hyderabad on August 23. Over 5,000 participants are expected for the 3K, 5K and family walkathon, followed by religious programmes including Akhand Path Sahib and Kirtan Darbar

Hyderabad: As part of the Centenary Year celebrations of the historic Central Gurudwara Sahib Gowliguda, the Prabhandak Committee Central Gurudwara Saheb Gowliguda in cooperation with all the Sikh Gurudwaras in Telangana, has lined up celebrations.

A Centenary Marathon (Run for Faith, Run for Sewa, Run as one Family, One Panth, One Sangat, One Community and One Historic Celebrations) for all age groups and comprising 3K, 5K and Family Walkathon will be on August 23 from HMDA Grounds, near Imax, through People’s Plaza and Necklace and return back.

Chairman S Rajender Singh, CGSG Prabhandak Committee President, S Trilok Singh, Secretary S Harvinder Singh Pandath, Vice- Presidents, S Inder Pal Singh and S Surinder Pal Singh, Committee Members, Kamaljeet Singh, Harpal Singh, Bhagat Singh and Bhajan Singh, said over 5,000 participants will participate in the marathon and all arrangements have been made for the event. The winners will be honoured with medals in various categories and digital certificates to all the walkers participating in the event.

The centenary celebrations feature Akhand Path Sahib, Kirtan Darbar, and Amrit Sanchar in September.
