Hyderabad:The Union Health Ministry on Saturday has further increased the share of Remdesivir injections to Telangana by allocating 2, 47, 000 injections up to May 30.

Earlier, in the second phase of allotment, the Centre had allocated 1.45 lakh Remdesivir to Telangana till May 16, which was enhanced to 2.15 lakh on May 16.

The increased allocation is expected to improve availability of Remdesivir injections for moderate Covid positive patients in Telangana.

Throughout the month of May, as production improved and more pharma companies augmented their production capacities, the Union Health Ministry on its part also increased the allocation of Remdesivir to individual states.

In the month of April, the Union Ministry of Pharmaceutical and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW) had allocated 21, 500 injections and later enhanced the allocation to about 41, 500 injections.
