Hyderabad: BJP MLA M Raghunandan Rao on Monday said the Centre had sanctioned a bridge at Reddipally village at Chegunta in his Dubakka Assembly constituency and issued a gazette notification declaring the 133-km long Medak-Siddipet-Elkathurthy road as a new highway.
Thanking the Central government for sanctioning the new highway, Rao said a majority of villages would benefit from the new highway. He said people from 12 villages in Chegunta staged a protest last year demanding that the government declare Reddipally as an accident-prone area since the number of accidents was high.
Realising the importance of the bridge at Reddipally, the Central government sanctioned the bridge, he said, adding that he raised several issues like laying new roads and construction of a degree college and double-lane roads from mandal headquarters to the district headquarters in Dubbaka Assembly constituency during the recently concluded budget session in the State Assembly.
He also discussed issues pertaining to promotions of constables and construction of 125-feet tall statue of Dr. BR Ambedkar apart from problems faced by poor Brahmins in temples. Criticising the State government for “failing to give sufficient time to raise peoples’ issues in the House,” he demanded that the government allocate a separate office to the BJP MLAs in the Assembly and invite them to Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meetings.
