Chalo Praja Bhavan: Farmers, BRS leaders arrested in Adilabad
Leaders were arrested and taken to local police stations while preparing to participate in the Chalo Praja Bhavan program across Adilabad, Kumram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, and Nirmal district centers. They were taken from their homes early in the morning and transported to the police stations.
Adilabad: Farmers and leaders of BRS were under preventive detention following an attempt to head to Hyderabad to lay siege to Praja Bhavan demanding implementation of an unconditional crop loan waiver, in several parts of erstwhile Adilabad district on Thursday.
Leaders were arrested and were housed at local police stations when they were readying to participate in Chalo Praja Bhavan programme in Adilabad, Kumram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial and Nirmal district centres. They were lifted from their houses early in the morning and were shifted to the police stations.
The leaders said that the government was suppressing the voice of the Opposition by arresting them. They demanded it to extend the crop loan waiver without any conditions. They regretted that farmers were struggling to raise crops due to delay in offering Rythu Bandhu and in sanctioning crop loans by various banks.
