Hyderabad: Chanchalguda jail DSP D Ratan Naik died of cardiac arrest near his house in Miryalguda of Nalgonda district early on Tuesday.
Naik was heading for a morning walk around 4.30 am near his residence at the Nalgonda sub-jail when he suffered a cardiac arrest and collapsed.
Morning walkers who went through the details on his identity card alerted sub-jail officials before rushing him to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead.
He used to travel from Miryalguda to Hyderabad to report for duty at the Chanchalguda prison every day.
