Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on becoming India’s longest-serving Prime Minister.

In a post on X, Naidu, who is also the President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), said that he, on behalf of the people of Andhra Pradesh, extends his heartfelt congratulations to PM Modi on this remarkable milestone.

“Some leaders govern a nation. A few reshape its trajectory. Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji’s 4,399 consecutive days in office have been defined by a singular effort to transform India at every level, from the everyday lives of its citizens to the nation’s standing in the world,” he wrote.

“Today, as he becomes India’s longest-serving Prime Minister, we celebrate not merely a record, but a period of change that has touched every corner of the country. From a water tap in a humble home to Chandrayaan reaching the Moon, from the aspirations of a farmer in the field to the courage of a soldier on the border, his leadership has sought to ensure that the benefits of progress reach every Indian while strengthening the nation’s confidence and capabilities.”

Naidu said that he believed that a defining feature of this journey has been the balance between welfare and development. “By combining support for the most vulnerable with reforms that have expanded opportunity, accelerated growth, and strengthened India’s economic foundations, he has shown that compassion and ambition can go hand in hand,” he said.

The TDP chief believes that India today is more confident in its future, more ambitious in its goals, and more determined in its pursuit of excellence. “We remain committed to building Swarna Andhra and contributing to the realisation of his vision of Viksit Bharat,” he added.

Chandrababu Naidu’s son and TDP national Working President, Nara Lokesh, also congratulated PM Modi for being elected consecutively as Prime Minister and achieving the record of governing the nation for the longest period.

“This unparalleled record set by Shri Modi, surpassing our country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, is truly remarkable. In his 12 years of governance, under Shri Narendra Modi’s leadership, the government has proudly positioned India as an invincible power on the world stage. Cheers to Shri Modi’s capable leadership for steering the nation towards opportunities and respect for the people, self-reliance, and empowerment,” Lokesh, who is also a state minister, said.
