Chandrababu Naidu to hand over 2.5 lakh houses in Andhra Pradesh
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will distribute 2.5 lakh houses under the second phase of the state’s housing programme from Sullurupeta in Tirupati district. The initiative includes one lakh TIDCO houses and 1.5 lakh other homes.
Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will hand over 2.5 lakh houses to beneficiaries on Monday as part of the second phase of state’s housing distribution programme to be launched from Sullurupeta in Tirupati district.
The NDA coalition government had earlier given away three lakh houses to beneficiaries from Rayachoti in November last year.
“Naidu will participate in the mass housewarming ceremony tomorrow and will hand over 2.5 lakh houses to beneficiaries under the second phase of the housing distribution programme in Sullurupeta,” said an official press release on Sunday.
In the second phase, the Chief Minister will distribute one lakh Township and Infrastructure Development Corporation (TIDCO) houses along with another 1.5 lakh houses built for beneficiaries across the state.
The government has handed over a total of 5.5 lakh houses to the poor within 21 months of coming to power, said the release.
Reaffirming its committment to housing for all, the government said it is taking steps to provide homes to all eligible beneficiaries.
Following the programme, Naidu will attend the first anniversary event of the Public-Private-People Partnership (P4) initiative launched for poverty eradication in Tirupati.
The CM will leave Amaravati at 10 am and reach Puduru at 11:50 am, where he will participate in the housewarming ceremonies and interact with beneficiaries, said the release.
Later, he will attend a public meeting and hold a review meeting with party workers and leaders of Sullurupeta constituency.
