Chess Tournament: Saikanth wins title

Nagasri Saikanth, a FIDE-rated chess player placed first at the A2H Chess Academy in Kukatpally.

Hyderabad: FIDE-rated Nagasri Saikanth won the open prize money chess tournament at A2H Chess Academy (Kukatpally) here with 7.5 points from eight rounds on Monday.

Three players tied for second place with 6 points each. In the tie-break order, C.R. Ritvik got second place. Sarath Kumar Nanda and K. Peruimallu were placed third and fourth respectively.


A total prize money of Rs 50,000 was distributed with the winner Saikanth getting Rs 6,000 and Ritvik Rs 5000.

Final placings: 1. Nagasri Saikanth (7.5 points), 2. C.R. Ritvik, 3.Sarath Kumar Nanda, 4. K. Perumallu (6 each), 5. S. Subba Raju, 6. K. Dinesh Sai, 7. Ch. Madhu Dhanush Teja (5.5 each), 8. Surya Alakanti, 9. Vishwanath Kannam and 10. Thota Jovenkataraman (five each).
