Hyderabad: Telangana’s Chikitha Taniparthi and Andhra Pradesh’s ace archer Vennem Jyothi Surekha have qualified for the Asian Archery Championship.
Chikitha finished second in the selection trials held in Sonepat, while Surekha has been selected for the championship for the eighth time.
The championship is scheduled to be held in Bangladesh from November 7 to 14.
A consistent performer at the continental level, Jyothi Surekha has already secured a remarkable tally of 12 medals in Asian Championships so far – 5 Gold, 5 Silver, and 2 Bronze.
“Surekha’s selection yet again reflects her dedication, discipline, and contribution to Indian sports, while continuing to inspire aspiring archers across the country,” said her father and mentor, V Surendra.
