Children vie to win Rubik’s Cube contest

The International level Rubik’s cube competition – ‘The Cracking Cube’ was organised by Delhi Public School, Nacharam, under the unique programme Fit India on December 23 on Zoom Virtual Meetings Platform.
This programme was initiated by the Chairman and Visionary of DPS Nacharam, M Komaraiah, Director Pallavi and Principal Sunitha Rao.
The chief guest of the programme was Eusebius Noronha, the founder and CEO of Indian Cube Association, and the guest of honour was Dr R Chandrika, president of Tamil Nadu Cube Association.
Both boys and girls participated enthusiastically and proved their acumen for the sport which helps the young minds to become confident, increase memory power, be patient and enhance problem solving skills.
There was a total of 559 participants registered for the competition from seven States of India and five countries — USA, Hong Kong, Singapore, Oman, Bahrain.
Around 36 participants were shortlisted for the finals.

Ranveer Agrawal from the Satellite School for Children, Ahmedabad (1st); S Shreyas, DAV Nursery School, Gopalapuram (2nd); S Jaanavi, Tamil Nadu Cube Association (3rd)
UNDER 10
Aryansh Agarwal, St Marys School ICSE, Mumbai (1st); Shree Pranav, DAV, Chennai (2nd); Archit Deshpande, Blue Ridge Public School, Pune (3rd)
UNDER 14
Mohammed Riaz, CK School of Progressive Education, Cuddalore (1st); Arshadh Ramachandran, Delhi Public School, Bengaluru East (2nd); Mohammed Junaid, Delhi Public School Bangalore-East (3rd).
UNDER 18
Tarak Sai Musunuri, Oakridge, Hyderabad (1st); Mohammed Zaid, DPS, Nacharam (2nd); Sreevatsan V, Tamil Nadu Cube Association (3rd).
The winners were given cash awards and certificates from host school and gifts from Indian Cube Association and a training programme by Tamil Nadu Cube Association. This unique competition has proved that holistic education can be incorporated in the classroom through Rubik’s Cube and the pioneers in promoting it in Hyderabad is Delhi Public School, Nacharam.
