Kothagudem: Reaching out to the needs of tribals and others in agency villages in the district, Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust established Chiranjeevi Oxygen Bank at Bhadrachalam. It might be noted that the trust founded by Telugu film actor Chiranjeevi has already set up an oxygen bank in Khammam recently. Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Dr Vineeth G inaugurated Chiranjeevi Oxygen Bank on the premises of the Indian Red Cross Society office on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, the ASP said the oxygen bank would greatly be useful for the tribals and others living in and around Bhadrachalam during the Covid-19 pandemic. He said tribals coming to Bhadrachalam from the border villages of neighbouring Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh, for treatment would also be benefited from the facility and appreciated the services of actor Chiranjeevi.
The oxygen bank organisers Tallapudi Ramu and S Srinivas Rao informed that the trust has allotted a total of 25 cylinders and five oxygen concentrators which would be used to serve the Covid patients free of cost. They thanked Chiranjeevi for his charitable activities and for regularly organising blood camps for the agency people and appealed to the locals to make use of the facility. IMA president Dr Sudarshan, Red Cross members Raja Reddy, Y Suryanarayana, P Durga Prasad, Siddulu and others were present.
