Choppadandi MLA Sunke Ravishankar wearing face mask to a bike rider in Choppadandi on Tuesday.
Karimnagar: In the wake of the surge in Covid-19 cases in the second wave, public representatives, political leaders, government officials and others are sensitising people about the importance of wearing face masks to protect themselves from the virus.
Going a step ahead, the government has also issued orders for imposing a fine of Rs 1,000 to the people who move around in public places without a face mask.

However, Choppadandi MLA Sunke Ravishankar on Tuesday launched an innovative campaign in his constituency headquarters. Instead of merely asking people to wear masks, he personally fixed masks on the faces of the people. Ravishankar extensively toured Choppadandi town and fixed masks on the faces of people who were found moving without masks.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA emphasised the need to wear face masks in the wake of spurt in corona cases in the second wave. Except for wearing masks and maintaining physical distance, there was no other alternative to check the spread of the virus since the symptoms have not been exposed properly under the second variant.
So, everybody must be alert about the virus and take precautionary measures such as wearing face masks, maintaining physical distance and sanitising hands frequently, he said.
Moreover, all the people above the age of 45 years must take the Covid vaccine without fail, Ravishankar appealed.
