Karimnagar: Choppadandi MLA Medipally Satyam took charge as District Congress Committee president on Friday in the presence of Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Government Whip Adi Srinivas, Manakondur MLA and former DCC president Dr Kavvampally Satyanarayana at Indira Bhavan here.
Earlier, Satyam was given a warm welcome by the party workers at Alugunur Chowk as he came to the town for the first time after being appointed as DCC president.
On the occasion, a huge rally was taken out from Alugunur Chowk to Indira Bhavan, where a meeting was conducted. Vehicle users faced severe hardships due to traffic jams following the rally.
