A massive fire gutted about 30 shops near the foothills of Kondagattu in Mallial mandal late Saturday night. The blaze, suspected to have been triggered by a short circuit, spread through toy and general stores along the Jagtial–Karimnagar road. Shopkeepers alleged that a delay in fire tenders worsened the damage, while devotees criticised the absence of a dedicated fire engine at the Kondagattu temple.
Choppadandi MLA Medipally Satyam’s convoy was involved in an accident near Puduru in Kodimial Mandal on Sunday. A collision with an oncoming vehicle triggered a chain reaction, damaging several cars in the convoy. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as airbags deployed.
Congress MLA Medipally Satyam has raised concerns over alleged bias in the reservation process for local bodies in Choppadandi constituency, urging the State government to review allocations in Karimnagar and Jagtial districts.
The accused also warned to kill him, after which the legislator lodged a complaint with Kothapalli police, who began investigation by registering a case under Sections 308, 351(3), (4) of BNS.
