Cinema halls to open shortly in Telangana
CM KCR has assured that, as the unlock process has begun, the film shootings and cinema theatres can be re-started by taking necessary precautions as per the COVID-19 guidelines.
Hyderabad: The cinema theatres are likely to be opened soon in the State. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao gave an assurance in this regard to actors Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna who met on him at Pragathi Bhavan on Saturday, stating that as the unlock process has begun, the film shootings and cinema theatres can be re-started by taking necessary precautions as per the COVID-19 guidelines.
During the meeting, Chandrashekhar Rao said about 10 lakh people were directly or indirectly depending on the Telugu film industry in the State. Due to cancellation of shootings and closure of theatres following the Corona restrictions, he stated that they all have lost their livelihood.
“The Coronavirus recovery rate in the State is at 91.88 per cent now. Film shootings and cinema theatres can be resumed following the COVID guidelines. Thus, the families dependent on the film industry too can come out of their problems,” he said.
Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna informed the Chief Minister that film shootings have already resumed duly following permissions given by the government and efforts were on to open the cinema halls as well.
