Cinema ticket prices: Telangana HC asks govt to file counter
Dealing with a case filed in the public interest by Cine Prekshaka Viniyogadarula Sangam, the panel questioned the rules framed to determine ticket prices after the State bifurcation

Hyderabad: The PIL panel of the Telangana High Court comprising Chief Justice Hima Kohli and Justice B Vijayasen Reddy took up an inquiry on the case pertaining to cinema ticket prices.
Dealing with a case filed in the public interest by Cine Prekshaka Viniyogadarula Sangam, the panel questioned the rules framed to determine ticket prices after the State bifurcation. The government pleader pointed out that a committee was appointed to decide the prices of tickets in theatres.
He also informed the panel that the committee submitted its report to the government. The panel then directed the government to decide on the committee report within 4 weeks. It also directed Telangana Cinematography and Home Department to file its counter.
