Hyderabad: CINIC, an emerging AI-powered talent platform for the entertainment industry, hosted the GenAI Micro Film Hackathon here, bringing together filmmakers and AI-native creators for an intensive, creation-driven innovation challenge.
The one-day hackathon saw over 60 shortlisted participants, selected from more than 250 registrations. Teams were challenged to conceptualise and produce a 90-second microfilm within six hours using artificial intelligence tools, encouraging rapid creativity, collaboration and experimentation.
Designed to explore the future of AI-led storytelling, the event focused on hands-on creation, enabling participants to ideate, script, visualise, edit and finalise films using next-generation AI technologies.
The jury panel included C.V. Rao, CTO of Annapurna Studios; filmmaker Yogesh KMC; actor and producer Havish Koneru; and Bharadwaj, AI content head at Chaishots.
Three teams were declared winners and received platform perks from Mosaic AI, an AI editing tool, and Koyal AI, an agentic AI filmmaking platform.
The hackathon was organised by CINIC in collaboration with Light, Camera, Action Group (part of Communities Hyderabad) and Tambo Restaurant.
