Civil society demands Telangana govt attach Sigachi assets for compensation
Civil society organisations have urged the Telangana government to attach the properties of Sigachi Industries Limited under the Revenue Recovery Act to ensure compensation for victims of the Pashamylaram blast. They have also announced a protest at the blast site on June 30.

Sangareddy: The organisations that have been fighting for justice for Sigachi blast victims, have demanded the Telangana government attach the properties of Sigachi Industries Limited by enforcing Revenue Recovery Act, to pay the full compensation to the victims.
In a joint press statement released on Sunday two days ahead first death anniversary of the blast, the Telangana People’s Joint Action Committee (TPJAC), the National Alliance of Peoples’ Movements (NAPM), the Human Rights Forum (HRF), and Scientists for People have demanded the government fulfil the promises made to the victims publicly after the blast that claimed 54 lives and left 28 injured.
Accusing the Congress government and Sigachi management of cheating the victims of the blast, the Civil Society demanded the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy ensure compensation within a time limit.
The organisations have also demanded the EPFO and ESIC to release all the benefits without any further delay. These organization will hold a protest at Pashamylaram along with the victims kin on June 30 at Sigachi blast site before organising a round table at Sundaraiah Vignana Bhavan, Hyderabad.
