Civil Supplies Corporation buying high-moisture paddy: Minister Thummala
Speaking to the media at the Secretariat, he stated that the State cultivated grade A paddy over 40 lakh acres, enabled by a Rs 500 per quintal bonus announced for premium paddy varieties. Starting in January, the government will distribute fine rice (Sannabiyyam) through the public distribution system.

Hyderabad: The Minister for Agriculture Thummala Nageswara Rao said on Friday that the paddy with moisture levels exceeding the permissible 17 per cent was also being purchased by the Civil Supplies Corporation as part of its MSP operations.
Talking to media persons at Secretariat, he said the State had cultivated grade A paddy in 40 lakh acres and this was made possible by the Rs 500 per quintal bonus announced by the state for fine varieties of paddy.
The government has already decided to distribute fine rice (Sannabiyyam) as part of the public distribution system from January.
