Kothagudem: A minor girl and a 28-year-old married man, who were reportedly in a relationship, allegedly committed suicide at Aswaraopet in the district on Tuesday.
It is said that the girl, a Class IX student at a government school at Chandrugonda mandal headquarters, went missing after having mid-day meal on Monday. Her parents, Krishnaveni and Sarvesh, agriculture labourers from Seethaigudem village of same mandal, lodged a complaint with the local police late in the evening on the same day after their failed attempts to find their missing daughter.
Sub-Inspector Rajesh booked a missing case and launched an investigation. Meanwhile, the girl and her alleged lover K Jagga Rao boarded an RTC bus at Chandrugonda after allegedly consuming poison.
The bus conductor, who found them in an unconscious state, shifted them to the local government hospital at Aswaraopet where they breathe their last while undergoing treatment. Jagga Rao, an auto driver, was said to be the neighbour of the girl and he had two children.
