Class IX student dies by suicide in Mancherial
A Class IX student, Egge Supriya, from Akenapalli village in Bellampalli mandal, died at Government General Hospital after attempting suicide by consuming pesticide. Police have registered a case, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause behind the incident.
Mancherial: A Class IX student, who attempted to die by suicide by consuming pesticide at Akenapalli village in Bellampalli mandal on Friday, died while undergoing treatment at the Government General Hospital here on Saturday.
Police identified the deceased as Egge Supriya, daughter of daily-wage earners Ramesh and Rajakka, and a student of the local government school. She was shifted to hospital immediately after the incident but could not survive. The reason for her extreme step is yet to be established.
Her parents told police that Supriya had been skipping classes for three consecutive days and appeared withdrawn, but they were unaware of what drove her to the act. Based on their complaint, a case was registered and investigation is under way.
