‘Clean India’ programme held at Charminar

Hyderabad: The Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) organised a “Clean India” programme at Charminar on Monday.

As part of the programme, the volunteers collected plastic waste material from around the Charminar monument and created awareness among the local people about proper disposal of single use plastic items.

Speaking on the occasion, chief guest NYKS regional director Satya Prakash Patnaik said that through this campaign they are not only organising a Clean India drive at public places, but were also creating awareness about clean and healthy surroundings.

The NYKS State director Anshuman Prasad Das, said that the ‘Clean India’ campaign is being conducted throughout the country covering 744 districts, six lakh villages with the involvement of more than 2.5 lakh youth clubs on the occasion of ‘Azadi Ka Amruth Mahotsav’.

The Union government launched the ‘Clean India programme on October 1 with an aim to create awareness on cleanliness as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to commemorate 75 years of India’s Independence.
