It will support lactating mothers to safely express breast milk, preservation of donor milk, processing milk (pasteurization) to eliminate harmful pathogens while retaining its nutritional value and providing safe, nutritious milk to vulnerable neonates

Hyderabad: Continuing its efforts to promote lactation support to mothers, Sushena Health Foundation in collaboration with Pegasystems on Friday launched a state-of-the-art Comprehensive Lactation Management Center (CLMC) and Dhaatri’s Mothers’ Milk Bank at the Government General Hospital (GGH), Mahabubnagar, Telangana.

The lactation management centre, already located at Gandhi Hospital, Maternity Hospitals in Petlaburj and Koti, ESIC Sanathnagar, will extend a full range of services related to human milk banking.


Dhatri Mothers Milk Bank, which is a public health initiative of Sushena Health Foundation, will support lactating mothers to safely express breast milk, preservation of donor milk, processing milk (pasteurization) to eliminate harmful pathogens while retaining its nutritional value and providing safe, nutritious milk to vulnerable neonates.

The facility will serve as a critical intervention to prevent avoidable deaths and improve survival rates, Deepak Visweswaraiah, senior vice president and managing director, Pega India, and Ddharaniikota Ssuyodhan, head (CSR) said.

Dr Santhosh Kraleti, general secretary and founder, Sushena Health Foundation, and Dr Sampath Kumar Singh, superintendent, Government General Hospital, Mahabubnagar, and others were present.
