Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Thursday expressed happiness over Indian players bagging bronze medals in hockey and boxing in the Tokyo Olympics. It is a happy occasion that Indian Hockey team won a medal in Olympics after a gap of 41 years, he said.
“With this performance, I hope the national game hockey gains its earlier glory in international arena” Chief Minister K Chandrashekhkar Rao said. The Chief Minister congratulated the Indian Team and its captain Manpreet for working hard to get the medal.
He also congratulated Lovlina Borgohain, the Assam boxer, who is participating in the Olympics boxing for the first time and won a bronze medal for the country. The Chief Minister expressed happiness over Lovlina creating history as the third sports player, who won a medal for the country in the Olympics. He hoped that Indian sports players would play well with the same spirit and hoist the victory flag by winning some more medals for the country.
