Khammam: Telangana has been at the forefront of women’s welfare in the country under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, said Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar.
The TRS government has been continuously working for the advancement of women and Chandrashekhar Rao was being hailed as a pioneer for the new India by implementing many schemes in Telangana which were an ideal for the country, he said.
Ajay Kumar launched the three-day Women”s Day celebrations here on Sunday following TRS working president KT Rama Rao”s directions to highlight welfare and development programmes undertaken by the Telangana government for women.
The minister said that the welfare of women in the State was the main objective of the TRS regime and Chief Minister was giving a big boost to the upliftment of women in all fields. Mission Bhagiratha, She Teams, Kalyana Lakshmi and Shadi Mubarak have been introduced for the well being of women. As many as 10.27 lakh families received Shadi Mubarak and Kalyana Lakshmi cheques and KCR kits given to10 lakh lactating women. The number of child deliveries in government hospitals have gone up from 32 per cent in the past to 52 per cent today, Ajay Kumar explained.
Chandrashekhar Rao was a forward-thinking leader and has become the focal point in national politics. Telangana has become a beacon for all the States with its public welfare schemes and innovative ideas and every house in Telangana has a beneficiary of government welfare schemes, Ajay Kumar said.
The minister hit at the BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar and TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy for making senseless comments against Telangana government saying that the opposition leaders failed to witness the development going on under the TRS rule.
The Congress leaders were not able to digest the development taking place in the State and resorting to cheap politics by filing cases in the court, Ajay Kumar alleged and called on the TRS ranks to retaliate if Congress leaders speak against the Chief Minister.
A massive rangoli design was created with the portrait of Chandrashekhar Rao with a caption ”Mahila Bandhu KCR” as part of the celebrations at Mamata Medical College. Ajay Kumar distributed Kalyana Lakshmi and Shadi Mubarak cheques to 301 families on the occasion and had lunch with them.
