Hyderabad: After assuring that 1000 acres of land was available at Jawaharnagar for constructing houses for River Musi oustees, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday said if need be, the Malakpet Race Course and the Amberpet Police Academy would be relocated beyond Hyderabad for constructing houses for the oustees.

Asking people living along the Musi riverbed not to get influenced by the campaigns of the Opposition, he said the State government would protect every single displaced person from the riverbed and provide rehabilitation. Speaking at former union Minister late G Venkatswamy’s birth anniversary celebrations here, Revanth Reddy said the government was prepared to spend Rs.10,000 crore for the rehabilitation of Musi oustees.

BRS MLAs KT Rama Rao and Harish Rao and BJP MP Eatala Rajender should make suggestions on how to support the Musi oustees, he said, demanding that BRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao and Rama Rao contribute a portion of their farmhouses for the poor, also asking the opposition not to create hurdles in welfare and development works.

Regarding the crop loan waiver, the Chief Minister appealed to the farmers not to hit the streets. If there were any issues, they should approach the district Collectors and get their issues addressed. In the last 10 years, the BRS government had waived crop loans worth Rs.11,000 crore but the Congress government had waived Rs.18,000 crore within a month, he claimed

“A few people are daydreaming that they can come to power using social media. Let me assure that they will end up in Cherlapally jail,” Revanth Reddy added.
