Coal miner sustained injuries inside RK5 underground mine in Mancherial

Mancherial: A coal miner sustained injuries when he was trapped between two tubs meant for loading coal at Seam 3 in the RK5 underground mine in Srirampur Area belonging to Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) on Wednesday.
SCCL officials said that the miner, identified as Jagan, a general assistant, received injuries to his ribs when he was struck between two tubs. He was immediately shifted to a hospital and is undergoing treatment. His medical condition is said to be stable.
Coal miners expressed concern over poor safety measures at the mine. They urged the SCCL to take steps to ensure the safety of miners inside underground mines. They regretted that they were discharging duties in the mines while risking their lives. They said that miners were getting injured while digging coal and carrying out other tasks.
