Hyderabad: A Community Connect programme was conducted at various residential colonies in Gandhi Nagar and several vehicles with no proper documents and illegal liquor were seized on Thursday night.
Officials said the programme was to engage with the local community, understand their concerns, identify social issues, and take action against anti-social elements. The initiative also aimed to curb drug-related activities, public consumption of alcohol, and other unlawful behaviours.
The operation covered key areas, including CC Nagar, Bansilalpet with about 200 police personnel. Vehicles were seized for either lack of valid documents, bearing no number plates, or being found abandoned, officials said.
Meanwhile, community issues will be formally brought to the attention of the relevant government departments through official correspondence, they said.
